Domestic and Foreign Patent Paralegal The candidate will prepare and electronically file documents relating to U.S. Provisional, Non-Provisional, Continuation, Continuation-In-Part, Divisional, Design and International Patent Applications in the U.S. Patent Office; knowledge of Reissue Application procedure is a plus. Prepare and electronically file documents relating to USPTO Office Actions and formalities, and Information Disclosure Statements. Prepare, file, and manage global patent applications, both nationally and via the PCT. Draft original correspondence, within the ethical boundaries of a paralegal position, to foreign associates and clients. Oversee assistants and other staff as needed to maintain the accuracy of data and increase efficiency in producing high-quality work products. Correspond directly with clients, attorneys, and foreign associates. Update office databases to ensure accurate information is maintained. Participate in special projects as needs arise. Maintain current docket for assigned cases and work with attorneys to ensure deadlines are met in a timely manner. The candidate should have a solid understanding acquired through the experience of domestic and foreign patent lifecycles in multiple countries and regions. Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Experience working with large clients and managing attorney and client communications. Ability to work independently or collaboratively with others, as needed. High level of oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of firm personnel and clients. Strong analytical skills and the ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment. Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products. Strong spelling, punctuation, grammar, and proofreading skills. Experience with e-filing PCT applications. Strong attention to detail and highly organized while working in a virtual environment. Excellent customer service skills. Willingness to be flexible while adhering to firm procedures and standards. Experience filing and prosecuting trademarks is a plus.
