Probate, Trust & Estate Paralegal And Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for: answering phones; communicate with clients; collecting case information; data entry for new clients; scanning case documents; organizing case documents to electronic files; preparing probate, conservatorship, guardianship and trust petitions, supplements, fee petitions, and notices. Have knowledge of the post death probate and trust administration processes, experience with efilings. Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, mediation, arbitration and trial; preparing correspondence and other legal documentation; and miscellaneous office administrative tasks. Assisting attorneys in the preparation of filings, discovery requests, responses and subpoenas, preparation and organization of document productions, creation of document production indices, creation of finalized filings, preparation of trial materials, and trial support. Paralegals must be proficient in the substantive areas of law and procedures applicable to the firm's practice areas, and must possess exceptional organizational and technical skills. Paralegals must also possess and maintain all requirements for being a billing member of the firm. Paralegals report directly to the Senior Litigation and Probate Paralegals and the Practice Management Chair. Prepare draft filings at the direction of attorneys. Prepare draft discovery requests and responses at the direction of attorneys. Gather and organize client documents. Prepare and organize document productions to be sent, and those received. Prepare indices of client documents, document production and third party documents. Prepare case timelines. Prepare draft subpoenas to third parties. Prepare exhibits for use at depositions. Prepare trial documents, exhibits and other materials. Should have 2+ years experience /as a paralegal or legal assistant in the areas of probate, trust and estate administration or litigation. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook and other legal and office software such as Smokeball, Adobe, etc. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved paralegal degree program preferred. Certified Paralegal or Certified Legal Assistant designation a plus. Bachelor's Degree also a plus.
