Litigation Paralegal Duties: Researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist attorneys. Under general supervision, review case materials, draft case chronologies and other fact analysis, organize client materials, draft subpoenas and other written discovery, draft declarations and compile supporting evidence and general case management. Summarizes legal documents. Organizes and indexes case files. Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation. Files pleadings with court clerk. Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints. Drafts a variety of legal documents, including subpoenas and discovery responses. Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file. Prepares for mediations and trials. Assist with damages analyses. Assists Attorneys at trial and in preparation for depositions. Communicates with witnesses and experts. Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner. Requirements: Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university is preferred. 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in a large litigation practice. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, document management system, and billing systems. Ability to create and utilize formulas in Excel a plus. Must be willing to commit to additional hours when necessary to reach Firm objectives. Must have superb organizational and analytical skills.
