Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist in all pre-trial and trial work such as preparing motions, pleadings, correspondence and general case management; maintaining and calendaring all key deadlines according to state and federal rules; drafting and managing discovery requests and responses; preparing attorneys for depositions and mediations; preparing for trial, including witness coordination, exhibit organization, and binder creation; and, generally assisting with all aspects of the litigation process. Must have at least 5+ years of litigation experience - probate experience a plus; a paralegal certificate is required; excellent oral and written communication skills; extraordinary organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to manage time effectively and bill in accordance with firm policies; proficient in all Microsoft Office software and case management software; must be able to work independently with limited supervision; must be able to work as needed; and must have solid knowledge of California Rules of Civil Procedure, Local Rules and gain understanding of Probate Code and other statutes relevant to claims as necessary.
