Litigation Paralegal The candidate should have 8 years of experience handling litigation matters. Gathering, compiling, indexing, tracking, preparing, and summarizing relevant materials in connection with circumstances and/or claims; Coordinating with and transmitting to outside counsel relevant materials in connection with claims; Reviewing documents for relevance and inclusion in investigation files relating to circumstances and/or claims; Reviewing documents for relevance and inclusion in response to third party discovery requests directed to firm; Responding to subpoenas, including preparation of objections to subpoenas and gathering and production of necessary documents; Gathering, indexing, tracking, and controlling exhibits and other materials in connection with third party discovery requests directed to firm; Interfacing with electronic discovery project managers concerning discovery issues, including litigation holds; search, preservation and culling of documents; creation of search terms; etc.; Reviewing documents in Relativity, or other discovery platform, to establish responsiveness/relevance to matter/case at issue; Gathering and reviewing documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria; Working closely and directly with OGC attorneys during all phases of the investigation and handling of circumstances and/or claims; Gathering, compiling, preparing, and summarizing information required in connection with applications for professional liability insurance; Maintenance of OGC list of ongoing litigation and/or claims; Additional responsibilities include providing support to OGC attorneys as needed in their work for the department. Advanced working knowledge of Relativity, Excel, Case Notebook and related case management software is required. Experience working directly with and supporting attorneys and clients during litigation. Ability to research as required. Experience with professional liability claims preferred. BA or BS degree preferred. Associate's degree or paralegal certificate with eight years of comparable work experience required. Ability to work well with OGC attorneys, clients, and outside counsel.
