Real Estate Paralegal Duties: The candidate will provide paralegal support to attorneys in the real estate practice group on a variety of real estate matters, principally in commercial transactions, trust and estates matters, utility real estate matters, and occasional coverage for residential transactions. Duties include organizing/coordinating commercial real estate sales and loan closings, including preparation of all closing documents, reviewing and analyzing title searches and title research, preparing title correcting and conveyancing documentation. Provide real estate title analysis and support to litigation attorneys in connection with real estate litigation matters. Conduct title searches for complicated title situations in connection with both transactional and litigation matters. Assist attorneys with drafting purchase and sale agreements and real estate leases and related documents. Organize and coordinate property acquisition and financing activities, including title review; order estimates of redemption, water certifications, zoning certifications, and property inspections prepare and review closing figures and settlement/closing statements. Manage internal and third-party closing checklists and obtain due diligence and other closing deliverables. Review title reports and documents, obtain payoff statements and obtain clearance of title issues. Coordinate and resolve internal and third-party comments and revisions to title insurance policies. Prepare post-closing document packages, recordings, and filings. Communicate with attorneys, clients, municipal offices, banks, and other entities; correspond in writing and coordinate documents as requested. Timely and appropriately communicate with Firm attorneys and other support staff, clients, and external parties as necessary regarding matters, including under deadline situations. Qualifications: The candidate should have a paralegal certificate or Bachelor's degree. Minimum of 5 years prior commercial real estate transactional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department. Prior title search and title review experience are required. Prior experience with corporate and other organizational entities required. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities skills. Ability to work independently as appropriate, while routinely communicating with Firm attorneys regarding the status of matters. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office and document management.
