Litigation Legal Secretary The candidate will deliver quality legal services to both external and internal clients, provide secretarial and administrative assistance to assigned attorneys, and provide back-up support to others, perform specialized legal tasks and handle office administrative tasks. Will be responsible for accurately e-filling court documents (including in proper format); prepare notebooks, exhibit list with attachments; update indices; draft standard documents (pleadings, correspondence, memoranda); proactively follow up on deadlines; coordinate meetings (depositions, mediations, etc.); and assist attorneys with CLE compliance and other administrative responsibilities. Accurately prepare and submit client intake forms; follow standard document naming and profiling conventions. Understand the importance of, and accurately manage, audit requests. Handle reception coverage and mail responsibilities (USPS, courier or overnight delivery); handle various office administrative matters, such as ordering and maintaining office, kitchen and related supplies, maintain log of checks received, assist with office administrative requirements. Must have knowledge of legal terminology, documents and litigation processes, including marking and generating tables of contents and authorities. Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; demonstrated understanding of correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Should be a strongly skilled litigation secretary who is detail-oriented, self-motivated, solutions oriented, organized and works well in a collaborative team environment. Must have strong clerical skills including word processing, be experienced in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and basic PowerPoint) and document management systems; handle mail and contact management; accurately calendar entries and address deadlines proactively. CompuLaw experience is preferred.
