Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity in the Los Angeles office for a Paralegal with the Real Estate Group. Are you a self-starter and have a high level of initiative and drive? Your Responsibilities: Position requires strong working knowledge, versatility and experience in commercial real estate transactions, and extensive client and industry contact, including: Title and survey coordination of title insurance matters; Coordinating transactions, including pre-closing due diligence, closing, and post-closing activities; Reviewing, analyzing and summarizing documents; Drafting memos, correspondence, and other documents; and Communicating with attorneys and clients regarding factual, organizational and transactional matters. Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree is preferred, but not required. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved training program is preferable. At least 2+ years of Orrick equivalent experience as a Real Estate paralegal. Solid organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Significant substantive knowledge of the procedures, terminology and documents relating to complex commercial real estate transactions. Familiarity with and understanding of (and ability to review and abstract) standard real estate documents such as REAs, easements & restrictive covenants, liens, estoppel certificates, leases, municipal violation searches and zoning reports. Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and any practice related software. Aptitude to develop specific and detailed knowledge and understanding of complex issues and procedures. Ability to work with governmental entities and other real estate professionals (such as expeditors, surveyors, title companies, appraisers and brokers). Strong interpersonal, delegation and leadership skills. Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You are able to work effectively within a team environment and to work proactively. You will have strong time-management skills, work well under pressure in a dynamic environment. Ability to work occasional overtime/flexibility with demanding schedules. California Requirements: In the California offices, paralegals must meet the qualifications, including compliance with the continuing education requirements, as set forth in the California Business and Professions Code, Section 6450 et seq.
