Consumer Finance Paralegal Duties: Performs legal research on consumer finance related subject matter. Drafts, prepares, and files documents for consumer finance practice. Handles electronic and paper filings in state court, federal court, and with the American Arbitration Association. Assists with e-billing to clients, working closely with billing and collections personnel. Maintains calendar for court deadlines, appearances, depositions, and travel. Handles highly sensitive information with discretion and maintains client and firm confidentiality at all times.. Ensures assignments to associates are completed on time. Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in the consumer finance space at a national law firm, lending institution, or loan servicer. 2+ years of experience supporting a consumer finance partner/team within a national law firm. Knowledge of consumer financial service practice, including substantial experience with case and document management. Familiarity with ECF filing systems (both state and federal) and general filing procedures with American Arbitration Association and in all courts. Proficiency with relevant software programs including Microsoft Office 2010 (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint); Experience with iManage and Intapp Open preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
