Bankruptcy Paralegal Duties: Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss cases or projects. Drafts legal documents including routine retention and fee applications and affidavits; files motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures. Prepares and files proofs of claim and assists with the claims reconciliation process. Researches and analyzes case management procedures, local court rules and statutes for compliance; provides written analysis to attorneys. Reviews and monitors case dockets to identify, summarize, and circulate relevant pleadings and applications. Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case information, which may include depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items. Assists attorneys with hearing and trial preparation. Develops and maintains records regarding billable hours spent on specific cases. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 2-3 Years experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of bankruptcy language and principles, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
