Residential Real Estate Paralegal Candidate will be working with contracts of sale, ordering title reports and coop lien searches, reviewing title reports, ordering and tracking loan payoffs, preparing and/or ordering ACRIS documents, preparing property deeds and most importantly coordinating closings. Will be expected to understand and track the entire transaction process from start to finish. Will include: Prepare and send out engagement letters. Create new client files and set up transaction checklists for each new transaction. Track and compile incoming due diligence materials (financial statements, offering plans, etc.). Schedule appointments with coop/condo managing agent for review of board minutes. Prepare and send out due diligence questionnaires to managing agent. Follow up until all due diligence materials are received. Order and review title reports and lien searches. Order and organize loan payoffs. Prepare or order ACRIS Documents and review for accuracy. Prepare property deeds, power of attorney documents and other regularly used real estate documents. Organize & maintain file records. Prepare and organize closings. Post-Closing file processing. Qualifications: 3+ years handling coop & condo purchase/sale transactions at NYC law firm. Must have outstanding organizational and communication skills. This includes the capacity to track many ongoing files at once, the ability to intelligently discuss the status of those files and the ability to communicate with clients, managing agents, real estate agents and bank representatives in an efficient and professional manner. Must understand that each member of the firm is a reflection of the entire firm. Must be proficient working knowledge of the real estate transaction process from start to finish. Proficient knowledge of MS Word. Working knowledge of basic MS Excel functions.
