Benefits/Litigation Paralegal The candidate will support its employee benefits practice. Will support a small group of attorneys in ensuring that documents of employee benefit plans and tax-exempt organizations comply with federal and state regulations and the latest legal developments. Reviewing qualified domestic relations orders and medical support orders; maintaining rules, procedures, and records for plans and organizations; and preparing submissions to regulatory bodies regarding compliance with applicable laws. Provide back-up support to the firm s litigation practice. Work may include assisting with the preparation and filing of court documents; cite and fact checking; conforming citations to rules; proofreading; assembling exhibits, appendices, and case files; generating tables of contents and authorities; preparing for depositions; and managing deadlines and calendars. Must have an undergraduate degree with an excellent academic record; strong analytical, writing, organizational, time management, and communications skills; and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with Westlaw, PACER, and online research and prior experience as an employee benefits specialist or paralegal is desired, An interest in organized labor and collective bargaining is helpful
