Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant at Law Firm Law Firm is seeking paralegal candidates for its Washington, DC office. They work closely with our attorneys in all aspects of litigation, and provide simultaneous support to multiple case teams. We are currently seeking to fill two paralegal positions in our Washington, DC office. Responsibilities: Meet with attorneys to discuss assigned cases or projects. Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve electronic case files. Organize and file motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures. Oversee all aspects of calendar maintenance, especially docketing of dates and deadlines. Coordinate discovery, including subpoenas, Bates-labeling, indexing, and maintaining e-discovery platforms. Assist attorneys with preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials. Perform fact investigations and conduct background research. Interface with prospective clients, co-counsel, class members, and vendors Develop and maintain billable hours and expense records. Perform other administrative and related duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree Hyper-organized and impeccable with deadlines. Ability to prioritize and work at a fast pace on a high volume of files, with a great attention to detail (ie, well-versed in multi-tasking effectively, working well under pressure, and independent decision-making) Excellent writing and proofreading skills Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with clients, court staff, and co-workers Experience conducting effective research using various research tools Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with Adobe Aptitude for learning and working in different computer systems Ability to work overtime on occasion Great-to-Haves: Prior law firm experience (preferably as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal) Familiarity with Westlaw and PACER Previous legal billing experience Benefits: Pay Range: $24.50- $28.50/hour (commensurate with experience), with opportunities for time-and-a-half overtime pay Paid Time Off Health Insurance Dental Insurance Health Savings Account plan Access to free onsite fitness center Overview Law Firm is seeking two paralegal candidates for its Washington, DC office. We offer a hybrid working arrangement; regular on-premises work is required. Applicants must be able to reliably commute (our office is conveniently located between the Farragut West and Foggy Bottom metros) or planning to relocate by the time of hire. The ideal candidate will be hyper-organized and impeccable with deadlines. They should have the ability to prioritize and work at a fast pace on a high volume of files, with a great attention to detail. The candidate should also have excellent writing and proofreading skills, the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with clients, court staff, and co-workers, and experience conducting effective research using various research tools. Prior law firm experience (preferably as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal), familiarity with Westlaw and PACER, and previous legal billing experience are all great-to-haves. Pay Range The pay range for this position is $24.50- $28.50/hour (commensurate with experience), with opportunities for time-and-a-half overtime pay.
