Paralegal, Employment Responsibilities: As a member of the Paraprofessional team, work under the direction of Attorneys and Senior Paralegals supporting the delivery of quality legal services to clients and provide assistance to others in all aspects of litigation, focusing primarily on the organization and indexing of case materials and clerical functions as required. Conduct research and investigation. Work collaboratively with litigation support team, analytics team, and other internal resources to help organize and compile relevant data and materials. Review, analyze and summarize documents. Draft memos, correspondence and legal documents. Perform cite-checking and fact-checking on legal documents. Help attorneys prepare court filings, including assembling and organizing exhibits, ensuring formatting complies with all applicable rules, cite-checking, proofreading, and working with others to ensure filings are successfully executed. Communicate with attorneys and clients regarding factual and organizational issues. Assist attorneys in planning and preparing for depositions. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree required with a strong academic background. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved training programs is preferable. Prior legal experience or the equivalent experience is useful. Prior office experience preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of the procedures, terminology and documents relating to complex employment matters particularly in the area of California state and Federal Court filings. Familiarity with the California Rules of Court, California Code of Civil Procedure, and California Superior Court local rules is preferred. Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Excellent analytical skills and communication skills, both written and oral. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software, Lexis, Westlaw, database retrieval systems and litigation support tools. Ability to work effectively within a team environment and be forward-thinking. Strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment. Ability to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently. Competency with e-filing documents with the courts. Ability to work effectively and proactively within a team environment. Prior experience in a business or law office is desirable. Ability to work overtime.
