Litigation Paralegal The candidate will work in the Chicago office handling primarily toxic tort cases and some medical device litigation. Will perform a broad range of case related duties under the supervision of partnership as outlined below. Responsibilities: Supporting 2-3 partners. Monitoring cases and track court and discovery deadlines. Overseeing requests for medical records; contact physicians and medical facilities. Analyzing medical records and prepare summaries. Assisting with preparation of discovery, pleadings, and motions. Electronic filing in federal and state courts. Drafting and updating client reports. Reviewing deposition transcripts. Corresponding with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks. Assisting with trial preparation including trial notebooks, exhibits, witness files, deposition transcripts. Legal research. Should have Bachelor's Degree. Must have Paralegal Certificate (ABA accredited). Should have 2+ years of litigation experience, previous experience in asbestos litigation preferred. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), advanced knowledge of Excel. Should have experience using docket search databases (PACER, LexisNexis, Pohlman, Westlaw etc).
