Litigation Paralegal The candidate works closely with attorneys to help support the litigation trial work, provide eDiscovery and litigation support, and assist with some office administration duties. Completes legal research in the law library and/or using the latest technology and online resources. Develops histories of events and/or actions. Completes reviews of certain legal documents and the filing of documents, as requested, at the appropriate agency and/or governmental offices. Prepares client or Firm documents as directed by an attorney to draft and/or edit. Provides necessary trial and deposition support as directed by an attorney. Oversees projects from beginning to end, including determining the process to follow and ensuring that all actions are taken for accurate and timely completion of each project. Maintains document databases using document review software (specifically Relativity) from the end-user perspective. Develops and maintains a system to organize client files and documents in paper and electronic format, creates binders, files content review, and document retrieval. Coordinates litigation support for the entire trial team, including attorneys and paralegals in the Boston and NY offices for ongoing litigation. Participates in ongoing internal training; attends informational, professional, and vendor events to understand litigation technology and service developments in the field. Assists with some office administration tasks, such as greeting clients, receiving deliveries, dealing with office vendors., etc. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned. Bachelor's degree preferred. Three (3) plus years of experience working as a paralegal is required. 1+ years of eDiscovery/Litigation Support experience preferred. Should have a high degree of proficiency with technology such as Microsoft Office, Kofax Power PDF Advanced, and database management/administration systems. Should have experience with performing document reviews and providing case management and transcript management support, using software such as Case Notebook, Relativity, or an equivalent software package; demonstrates organization, flexibility, and reliability as well as the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and works well under pressure; excellent interpersonal skills, including strong communication skills, tact, and diplomacy as well as the ability to interact positively and productively with all levels of the Firm. Detail-orientated and self-motivated; ability to quickly learn, retain, adapt to changes, and have an intrinsic understanding of the technology needed to perform duties. Adaptable to last-minute changes and disruptions, and able to accommodate occasional overtime work, including travel for local or out-of-state trials.
