This large international New York law firm founded in 1934 has established a full-service presence. Clients include large corporations and individuals as well as small and medium-sized businesses. The firm represents a wide range of industrial, financial and commercial enterprises, both publicly and privately held. Firm lawyers represent clients in every state as well as numerous foreign jurisdictions. Real Estate Paralegal Duties: Perform due diligence for and coordinate transactions and work with the team to close commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financings. Review title commitments, recorded documents, surveys, and zoning diligence and help generate and respond to title and survey objections and negotiate the same on behalf of lender/borrower/seller clients. Prepare real estate closing documents and coordinate items for closing and post-closing requirements for transactions, including exhibits, execution versions, transaction resolutions, certificates, and other governance documents. Track transaction tasks, parties, and key dates, and communicate progress to the team as issues and tasks are resolved. Coordinate recordation of deeds, deeds of trust/mortgages, amendments, subdivision maps, lot line adjustments, easements, covenants, and similar documents. Review, analyze and summarize real estate agreements, such as anchor and big-box lease agreements, CC&Rs, and REAs. Follow up on typical post-closing matters. Meet or exceed the minimum billable hour expectation of 1600 hours per year/133 hours per month. Daily, accurate entry of time into the Firm's time entry system (UltiPro). Prompt submission of weekly timesheets (InTapp). Comply with all Firm policies applicable to non-exempt staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent work experience. 3+ years of transactional commercial real estate paralegal experience representing lenders. Substantial experience reviewing and commenting on title insurance and survey matters. Excellent organizational, time-management, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Ability to exercise sound, independent judgment, and take initiative to accomplish objectives in a timely manner with moderate supervision. Great attention to detail and ability to adapt to changing priorities. Communicate effectively and professionally with outside parties and in-house colleagues. Highly motivated self-starter who reacts proactively. Proficiency with Firm-standard software (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe Pro, rooms, and other software introduced from time to time). Must be flexible to work overtime and assist other practice groups when needed. Must be able to work under pressure and handle stress.
