Employee Benefits Litigation Paralegal The candidate' must have excellent academic credentials and attention to detail. A Bachelor's Degree or a Paralegal Certificate is required. Should have a minimum of two to five years\ experience with excellent oral and written communication skills and strong attention to detail. As part of our Employee Benefits litigation team, some of the essential duties and responsibilities will include: Assisting with filings and tracking of federal and state court litigation, garnishment proceedings, subrogation files, and worker's compensation interventions. Assist with the overall management and docketing for all subrogation and litigation files and related workflow. Regular consultation with attorneys, client representatives and other team members. Draft, prepare, and proofread pleadings, discovery, and service documents. Managing multiple and numerous files simultaneously, in docketing litigation deadlines. Preparation of documents and materials for depositions, trials and hearings. Familiarity with state and federal court Rules of Civil Procedure, including rules for workers compensation proceedings. Knowledge and coordination of required service and filing requirements in multiple states and different venues. Investigate and research factual issues related to claims. Prepare and update medical claims summaries. Organize, track and monitor data on an on-going basis. Collect, organize, review and manage client documentation and evidence. Gather documentation/background information as requested by attorneys. Summarize information and provide status reports to attorneys. Coordinate document productions and electronic discovery review. Provide on-going assistance for litigation support case teams. Demonstrated familiarity and experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook as well as general computer skills are required along with the willingness and desire to learn and use new computer programs. Experience with Relativity is a plus. This position does not require prior employee benefits experience, but you must be a quick learner with an active interest in acquiring and applying new skills. The successful candidate will also be committed to and enthusiastic about using strong client service strategies; must possess exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and the ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines. In addition, you must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
