This high-powered, long-established firm offers great opportunities for top-notch candidates seeking rapid growth and high volume in intellectual property and dozens of other challenging practices. We really have a lot of good things to say about this firm because the firm seems to consistently set a high mark for itself in numerous, numerous categories. For example, the attorneys in this firm are all almost universally very nice people to work with and this firm puts a real powerful emphasis on quality of life issues for both its associates and partners. Without exception, the firm’s attorneys claim they are treated with a tremendous amount of respect – the firm is genuinely interested in making long-term relationships with people. Management is extraordinarily introspective about the candidates they interview – according to one candidate, the firm is “almost philosophical” in its approach towards recruiting. Attorneys here typically bill in the 1800 range.
Paralegal - Real Estate The candidate will provide a comprehensive range of support to attorneys and clients in real estate practice to complete real estate financial transactions with lenders and investors for the funding of the clients' loans for low and moderate income housing projects. Will monitor and manage all aspects of complex real estate transactions. Analyze title documents, real property legal descriptions and surveys; prepare title and survey comments; identify and recommend title endorsements and removal of or changes to title exceptions; and coordinate with title companies regarding title insurance policy issues and satisfaction of closing conditions. Draft Documents: Work with attorneys on drafting correspondence, loan documents, resolutions, escrow instructions, closing checklists, and other documents typical to a real estate closing. Manage due diligence activities, including creating and monitoring due diligence checklists. Conduct UCC and other searches and analyze results; request entity documents. Assist in the preparation of real estate documents, exhibits and schedules. Manage and coordinate closings. Review organizational documents, resolutions and incumbency certificates for appropriate parties involved in loan transactions. Address post-closing matters and oversee preparation of closing books. Assist with real estate aspects of litigation and estate planning matters as requested. Accurately and completely record billable time spent and tasks performed in accordance with firm policy and client-imposed billing protocols; enter and release time promptly in compliance with established deadlines. Promptly submit accurate records of hours worked. Accept and perform other tasks as assigned.
The candidate must have 6+ years experience (10+ years experience preferred) as a real estate paralegal, required; experience in real estate loan matters. Must have demonstrated knowledge and skill in both loan and purchase/sale transactions. Should have Bachelor's degree or clear demonstration of equivalent knowledge and skill.
