Part-time Litigation Legal Secretary The candidate will assists with billing process to include entering attorney time, editing and preparing draft/final bills and cover letters for clients. Will prepares forms for expense reports. Opens, prioritizes and distributes mail. Coordinates mailings, deliveries, copying. Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of litigation employment experience is preferred. Must have high school diploma or GED and 3-5 years of related legal experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Should have 5+ years of litigation legal secretary experience. Must have the following skills and experience: Strong knowledge of court rules & filing procedures (including e-filing) in both state & federal courts; Excellent word processing skills (intermediate to advanced level in Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat); Knowledge of pleading and discovery documents, including ability to accurately and efficiently type, edit and format legal documents and correspondence (including TOC/TOA Skills); Ability to create legal documents and correspondence from draft or dictated text; Excellent writing, grammar, proofreading skills and overall attention to detail; Strong calendaring skills for both daily appointment calendar and legal calendar, e.g. deadlines, including all trial dates, post-trial deadlines, motion and opposition deadlines, discovery deadlines, etc. Coordinate client meetings, schedule conference rooms, and make travel arrangements as required; Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment and take initiative with little supervision; organize and prioritize workload and use own judgement in decision making on how to adequately and efficiently meet all deadlines; must have the ability to multi-task effectively; work well independently and as part of a team; Possess excellent written and oral communication skills with clients and lawyers and be able to work in a team environment; Review case updates and advise counsel regarding upcoming deadlines including to discovery and law and motion; Complex litigation background is a must; Must have expertise in creating office filing system (both paper and digital), opening and closing of files, organizing and maintaining office and case files.
