Legal Secretary - Litigation Duties: Requires superior knowledge of Superior Court Rules & Code of Civil Procedure. Requires working knowledge of Appellate Court Rules. Requires knowledge of electronic filing procedures in both Superior and Appellate Courts. Manage and coordinate court/trial and appointment calendars. Must be proficient in utilizing online resources such as Pacer, state court dockets, and search engines. Communicate clearly both in writing and verbally. Maintain a regular presence and regular working business hours at the office with remote access being provided during COVID-19 pandemic. Work with computer programs including but not limited to Excel, Word, Outlook, Lexis/Nexis and PracticeMaster. Various administrative tasks. Qualifications: Strong knowledge of filing procedures in both state and federal courts. Exceptional word processing skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain flexible under pressure to meet client and attorney needs with a positive attitude and composure. Manage a busy litigation calendar and comply with strict deadlines. Strong initiative and problem solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills a must. Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff. Able to take initiative and anticipate what tasks need to be completed. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional overtime is required. Must have outstanding technology aptitude and literacy, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Pro, iManage (a.k.a. Interwoven/FileSite/WorkSite), Trial Director (helpful), and time tracking software. Must be able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks; follow directions and instructions; work independently or in a team, as needed; pay close attention to detail and provide work that is consistently error free. Proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Must have 6+ years A? civil litigation experience required. Should have 2+ years A? appellate experience preferred. Heavy trial calendaring and trial preparation experience required. Construction Defect Litigation experience helpful. Paralegal Certificate helpful.
