Litigation Paralegal The candidate assists during all phases of the litigation process, from initiation of a case to the discovery period, through trial. Drafts discovery and miscellaneous documents such as pleadings, responses, motions, briefs, deposition digests, and case summaries. Organizes and maintains physical and electronic files. Performs a variety of document production tasks, including bates-stamping, redaction, duplicating, and indexing. Prepares and submits filings with Federal and state courts. Prepares for and attends, as necessary, depositions and trials. Performs a variety of research projects as assigned. Regularly interacts with both internal and external clients and officials. Provides overflow support as needed. The candidate should preferably have a High school or equivalent education with 1-year of experience as a general litigation paralegal. A paralegal associate's degree or other relevant certification is preferred. Proven working experience in an office environment is required. Should have an understanding of North Carolina civil litigation procedures and general contract litigation. Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices is needed. Must be highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills along with attention to detail. Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel), Internet research skills, document management systems.
