Litigation Paralegal The candidate will range of litigation and bankruptcy support, including, but not limited to, preparation/revision of correspondence, docketing, preparation of pleadings and legal documents, e-filing, and conducting legal research. The successful candidate is a very organized, detail-oriented team player possessing at least 10 years recent litigation assistant experience. Engage in the work of attorneys by demonstrating knowledge and status of current cases and projects, utilizing available resources. Perform e-filing for Federal, State and Bankruptcy Courts. Act as liaison between internal departments and outside agencies. Proofread, draft and/or finalize correspondence, pleadings, legal documents and other assignments as directed. Handle a wide variety of complex and confidential time-sensitive material. Maintain docketing for bankruptcy and litigation attorneys as needed. Transcribe electronic dictation, and schedule depositions. Organize and track status of cases and assist in the management of attorney court appearances. Prepare and organize evidence and discovery as needed. At least 10 years recent litigation assistant experience within a law firm, including a minimum of 5 years recent bankruptcy experience. Working knowledge and understanding of Federal, Bankruptcy and State court processes and procedures including electronic filing portals. Proficient in navigating Federal, Bankruptcy and State Court websites to research local rules and familiarity with legal research, including use of Pacer and Westlaw. Familiarity with State, Bankruptcy and Federal rules and procedures, as well as procedures with State and Federal agencies. Must have a solid understanding of technical legal terminology. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent proofreading skills. Ability to timely respond to deadlines, balance workload and take initiative. Proficient with Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work with and take direction from multiple individuals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with attorneys and support staff on every level. High school diploma required. Paralegal Certificate preferred. At least 10 years recent experience filing in California State, Bankruptcy and Federal Courts.
