The San Francisco office of this mid-size firm is engaged primarily in litigation and general business, although the firm boasts a solid regulatory and administrative law practice and a respectable labor/employment practice. The firm has a strong pro bono commitment; associates receive full billable hour credit for approved pro bono work and, overall, pro bono comprises 3-5% of all work. The billable hour target is 1850 and salaries are approximately 20% below market.
Real Estate Paralegal The candidate will work within the Community Development Finance practice group for real estate and project finance transactions. Perform due diligence including review of title commitments, surveys, and underlying title documents and entity documents, coordinate and implement transactions and closings. Organize and maintain due diligence using document management systems. Support the corporate secretarial function, including drafting minutes, resolutions, and written consents and maintaining corporate minute books and other corporate records. Assist with transaction closings, preparation of closing certificates, collection, and organization of closing documents, and creation of closing binders. Other responsibilities as client needs dictate. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of commercial real estate and title and survey experience. Should have experience reviewing title commitments, surveys, and related title exception documents and familiarity with ALTA title and survey standards. Knowledge of partnerships, limited liability companies, tax credit, or partnership syndications, a plus. Must be able to work collaboratively with paralegals, lawyers, administrative assistants, and clients on transactions, department projects, and initiatives. Must be a self-directed individual with the demonstrated ability to prioritize, juggle multiple assignments, function as part of a cohesive team, and meet deadlines in a timely manner. Should have excellent, organizational, communication, analytical and critical thinking skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills are required.
