Patent Paralegal Responsibilities: Develop and maintain systems to collect, store and retrieve data. Locate and expedite requested documentation; draft original correspondence and materials for communication under attorney's signature; draft original correspondence to various parties and clients for own signature. Communicate with clients, government agencies/officials, consultants and various other parties on a regular basis to collect and assemble information. Communicate as an agent of the Attorney. Qualifications: A Bachelor degree and/or paralegal certificate or equivalent experience within an Intellectual Property practice area. 5+ years IP patent prosecution experience (preferred). Excellent oral and written communication skills and proven analytical ability. The ability to set priorities, exercise independent judgment, and initiate projects. The ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines; responsible; resourceful; professional. Thorough knowledge and significant understanding of all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, including: identifying incoming communications from the USPTO and foreign associates and preparation of base responses for same. Experience conducting searches on databases. Knowledge of online resources including EFS-Web electronic filing system and PAIR, Global IP Estimator, and at least one docket database (preferably Foundation IP).
