Legal Secretary (Litigation) The candidate supports attorneys virtually in delivering the highest level of service to internal and external clients. Creates, edits, formats and proofreads documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Prepares legal documents for court filing and electronic filing. Promptly responds to attorney requests via written, verbal or electronic communication. Effectively and efficiently manages work and information requests, including document management, scheduling, and coordination of Firm resources. Helps attorneys and team members apply new technology to improve efficiency and quality of work products. Hands off work with detailed instructions to team members so that the work product is not compromised. Smoothly handles multiple demands and shifting priorities across all Firm offices. Maintains Extranet data and FTP sites for attorneys and clients. A candidate with an Associate or Bachelor's degree is preferred. Should have experience of 5+ years of legal secretarial and customer service experience. Should also have 5+ years of litigation experience filing in local, state, and federal filings. Speaks and writes English clearly and succinctly. Notary Public license is preferred. Should be competent in drafting correspondences. Must be an expert in Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook, Intermediate Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint. Works with Technology Department to troubleshoot issues. Conceptual thinking A"understanding how one unique problem set is similar to another. Attorney/Client Service customer-first focused required. Must be proactive in balancing multiple work demands, taking personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of their own and the team's work product, and maintaining client and Firm confidentiality. Should have the ability to work independently and within a team. Must have the ability to be professional and communicate respectfully with challenging personalities. Professional Demeanor and ability to provide remote support to attorneys required. Must have the ability to work under pressure and deliver accurate results. The ability to multi-task and meet deadlines is required. Must have the ability to process and receive detailed instructions and information through oral and written communication.
