Litigation Paralegal Part-Time The candidate will work in a small law office part-time to handle primarily personal injury cases. Wwill perform a broad range of case related duties under the supervision of the managing attorney and must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Follow established guidelines, gathers, prepares, and summarizes relevant materials for use by attorneys in preparation of memoranda and other legal documents. Review documents, cross-check information. Enter data into computerized systems, update databases and spreadsheets. Obtain documents from paper and electronic files. Assist with responding to information sharing requests (medical and billing requests). Identify and communicate timelines. Draft and edit internal and external documents and/or correspondence. Assist with document productions on cases (pre-litigation and litigation). Maintain, organize and file records and documents. Other duties as assigned, but not limited to answer phones, taking phone messages, drafting check requests, and checking mail. Monitor cases and track court and discovery deadlines. Oversee requests for medical records; contacting physicians and medical facilities. Analyze medical records and prepare summaries, if necessary. Assist with preparation of discovery, pleadings, and motions. Electronic filing in state courts. Schedule depositions and booking possible conference rooms. Correspond with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks. Assist with trial preparation including trial notebooks, exhibits, witness files, deposition transcripts, etc. Candidate must be able to work effectively. Must have and use excellent oral and written communications skills. Candidate must have experience in litigation support. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). 3 years of litigation experience required. Two-year degree or four-year degree in paralegal studies from an accredited college, university, school, or educational institution required. Paralegal certification/diploma required (ABA accredited) required. Must be detail oriented, have great communication/organizational/computer/client customer service skills, and be able to multi-task. Must also possess excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work well under pressure, and the desire to take initiative. English required.
