Personal Injury Paralegal The candidate will interview clients, witnesses, doctors, and law enforcement officers. Will schedule attorney's calendar. Gather police reports, medical records and other supporting evidence. Review, index, organize and summarize documents produced by other parties and medical health care providers. Communicate and correspond with client about case status and preparation. Draft complaints and discovery requests. Respond to discovery requests from defendants. E-file legal pleadings with the Court. Coordinate with process servers. Locate expert witnesses to interview and possibly retain. Keep track of pretrial and trial order deadlines. Prepare pretrial and trial motions. Prepare trial exhibits, etc. Prepare trial notebook. Prepare jury instructions. Organize and summarize medical bills and insurance liens. Perform legal research, bookkeeping and other general office tasks. The candidate should preferably have Bachelor's degree and Paralegal certificate or, in the alternative, equal relevant experience. Must have 4+ years of experience as a paralegal working in personal injury litigation in Florida. Should understand legal concepts, terminology, principles and procedures. Experience in one or more specialized practice areas is a plus. Proficiency with MS Office and performing legal research and using computer databases, including Westlaw and LexisNexis, is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed.
