Immigration Legal Secretary Duties: Prepare, edit and electronically file pleadings. Prepare and file employment-based immigration petitions; complete H-1B, LCA, TN, L-1A, L-1B, and other immigration forms. Create and revise documents from dictation and from handwritten, typed or electronic copy; compose correspondence as directed. Assume responsibility for billing process. Assist with Elite Webview time entries; maintain electronic and paper files; open new matters; assist with docketing and special projects. May be required to perform other duties not specifically mentioned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 3+ years of immigration legal secretary experience and at least 1 year of experience with extensive knowledge of litigation and trial procedures, including ECF (federal) and Odyssey (state) electronic court filing programs. Accurate typing skills of 50 wpm. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; some experience with Excel and PowerPoint is preferred. Ability to prioritize, excellent organizational skills, and perform well in stressful situations. Effective communication skills with all levels of personnel as well as with clients. Experience with immigration case management system and large law firm experience (preferred).
