Bilingual Immigration Paralegal / Legal Assistant The candidate will work closely with one another to provide the highest level of service to each of our clients. Provide overall support to attorneys' business needs. Consult with an attorney to determine whether the client is eligible for relief for removal. Assist client in obtaining necessary documentation for the application. Prepare forms and supporting documentation for attorney review. File or fee-in application with USCIS. File application with Immigration Court and serve on Immigration and Customs Enforcement Chief Counsel. Help attorney prepares for the hearing. Other paralegal duties for clients who are in removal proceedings: May be required to visit the client at the detention center; assist attorney at motions or bond hearings; travel to USCIS district office on behalf of or with a client or to hand file an application or motion. Assemble and file the application: Prepare Form I-589, Application for Asylum and Withholding of Removal, for attorney review. Research client's country conditions. Obtain and organize supporting documentation. File the application and supporting documentation to USCIS or the Immigration Court if the client is in removal proceedings. Prepare client for an interview and/or merits hearing. Know when to file Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization. BIA Appeals. Maintain a docket of over 150 removal proceeding cases. The candidate must have 2 years of relevant experience; excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision; a team mentality with a "go-getter" attitude, be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines in a timely manner; a high level of efficiency and accuracy in completing their daily objectives and should be computer literate with modern software applications. Professionalism and a strong work ethic are paramount. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish is a must. Knowledge of Labor Certification; Family-Based I-130; Employment-Based I-140; Adjustment of Status A" I-485; Naturalization and Interview process A" N-400 is a plus. Should have a team mentality with an emphasis on customer service. Must also be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask to meet deadlines in a timely manner.
