Patent Paralegal The candidate will review and organize files, reviewing docket for deadlines. Prioritize workload to meet foreign filing deadlines and due dates. Prepare and review appropriate correspondence from foreign associates and to clients and associates regarding new applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Assist in filing of U.S. and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents). Extensive knowledge of U.S. patent rules and procedures; knowledge of PCT and/or national laws of other countries. Process Office Actions. File and assist in prosecution of design applications. Track chain of title in U.S. patents and ability to perfect same. Communication with the USPTO and relevant knowledge regarding the USPTO databases. Prepare, maintain and update reports for clients regarding status of applications and patents, including reporting filing receipts for applications, publication notices and forwarding patent certificates.
The candidate will work as an intellectual property paralegal. Must have at least three(3) years of patent law experience. Must a minimum of three(3) years of intellectual property experience and have previous domestic and foreign filing experience, and strong computer and research skills. General knowledge of intellectual property filing and prosecution rules/regulations is required. Experience with CPI docketing systems. Should be detail oriented, highly skilled, flexible and have the ability to prioritize a busy workload. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills required for successful achievement.
