Litigation Trial Paralegal Candidates will be involved in, and assist with, all aspects of case preparation and file management from commencement through settlement or trial. Will participate in all aspects of trial preparation and trial, including set-up of electronic equipment in the courtroom and assistance during trial, as required.
Candidates must have: Paralegal certificate from ABA school or certification with trial experience. Require 5+ years recent experience. Experience with cases involving intellectual property such as trademarks, trade names and patents is a plus. Solid experience with all phases of discovery, trial preparation and trial support; Strong communication skills and a commitment to work as a self-motivated member of a team with high standards and demanding caseload; An ability to take responsibility for overall case file maintenance, including indexing and filing case material; An ability to manage case administration and litigation support, including the coordination of production of large volumes of documents, maintaining a production index and preparation of exhibits and drafts of privilege logs, organizing and updating electronic case files, indexing and filing of case materials and cite-checking of briefs and memoranda; An ability to prepare and organize witness files and exhibits, and assist with exhibits and electronic presentations during depositions and trials; An ability to organize and synthesize information through the preparation of summaries, chronologies, reports, and spreadsheets; Proficiency in Trial Director or comparable trial presentation software and in using one or more ESI discovery platforms, such as Relativity; Expertise in legal and factual cite-checking and blue booking briefs and other documents; A willingness to work closely with attorneys and support staff to facilitate a seamless flow of communication and information among the litigation team and maintain and manage law firm docket and attorney calendar for court deadlines; A working knowledge of federal and state court rules, deadlines, procedures and e-filing requirements; Excellent communication skills for interacting with team, contacting clients, experts, and other outside parties; Excellent proofreading skills; A working knowledge of Windows 10; Microsoft Office 2016 including Word 2016, Excel 2016 and Outlook 2016; and NetDocs or similar document management system; Helpful, though not required for this position is prior experience with Change Pro; CoreRelate; Litera templates/schemes; and Adobe DC.
