Litigation Paralegal The candidate will draft Discovery responses. Trial preparation includes preparing notebooks and exhibits. Draft and Serve Discovery Requests for Production and Interrogatories. Manage a caseload of 30 cases at any given time. Docketing and Calendaring. Organization and maintenance of case files. Prepare cases for mediation and settlement conferences by reviewing files, obtaining documents, and communicating with clients and attorneys. Assist and potentially attend attorney-client meetings. Handle cases from inception through resolution. Gather and analyze information relevant to the case. Maintain contact with clients on a consistent basis. Maintain focus and concentration throughout the day. Should preferably have 1+ years of experience in a law firm. Experience filing on Colorado Courts E-Filing and CMF/ECF. Must have extensive contact with clients and attorneys, and familiarity with medical records. Must have knowledge of the Colorado and Federal Rules of Procedure, extensive review, and knowledge of each case. Must have a strong work ethic and be able to work well in a fast pace environment, have great people skills as the position requires a great deal of client contact, be able to manage multiple tasks and meet the deadline, have exceptional communication and written skills, have computer skills including knowledge of MS Word and legal software. Must have ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, ability to operate Microsoft Office software programs and familiarity with records management systems, know concepts, terminology, and procedures of litigation cases and trials. Must have continuously assisted the attorney in keeping cases well-organized and current, frequent communication with clients to provide case information and updates. Must have the ability to multi-task required while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and meet deadlines, time management, professional communication, and organizational skills. Must have the ability to work independently and within a team-based structure, outstanding proofreading, and the ability to follow and take direction.
