Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be assisting with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings. Assisting with the preparation and service of discovery. Organizing and managing documents electronically and in hard copy formats. Coordinating the collection, review, and production of documents and responding to discovery requests. Researching case-related factual issues using in-house files and outside reference sources. Acting as liaison among all parties including court or other neutrals for scheduling and sharing information. Assisting with trial preparation including the assembly of exhibits, juror binders, witness binders, witness preparation, and organization and presentation of exhibits at trial via software, foam boards, hard copy, etc. Preparing disbursement of settlement or judgment monies to clients and updating deductions like litigation costs and medical liens throughout the case. The candidate must have Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited program preferred but not required. Combination of paralegal education and/or paralegal experience required. 2+ years of significant and substantive litigation experience as a paralegal in a personal injury law firm setting strongly preferred. 2+ years of significant and substantive trial experience as a paralegal in a personal injury law firm setting strongly preferred. Proficiency with word processing (MS Word) and spreadsheet software (MS Excel) and Adobe Acrobat. Working knowledge and competency with case management software and ability to proficiently learn new case management software (Legal Files). Experience drafting, proofreading, cite-checking, and correcting legal documents. Experience managing medium to large-scale document productions. Excellent organization skill is required. Outstanding attention to detail. Legal research skill is essential. Exceptional investigation skill is required. Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary. Ability to follow directions and procedures. Ability to prioritize workload and assignments to accomplish time-sensitive goals. Ability to multi-task a steady flow of new and follow-up case tasks. Outstanding typing and computer skills are required. Upbeat, positive personality is a plus.
