Immigration Paralegal The candidate prepares for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits, preparing witnesses, drafting motions and briefs. Prepares legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, applications for relief: EOIR 42-B, I-589, I-130, I-485, I-601, I-192, I-918 etc. Meet with clients and other professionals to discuss details of case. Files pleadings with court clerk. Gathers and analyzes research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, country conditions reports and documents. Prepares witnesses to testify at hearings or interviews after drafting witness declarations. Attends USCIS and ICE interviews. Investigates facts and law of cases and search pertinent sources, such as public records, to determine possible relief options and to prepare cases. Direcst and coordinate law office activity, including enforcement of court and office deadlines. English and Spanish language required: Knowledge of structure and grammar, including the meaning of words, rules of composition and grammar. Must be fluent in conversational Spanish. Must have knowledge of computer hardware and software including immigration forms applications and programming. Preferably knows INS Zoom. Should have 3 years of experience as immigration paralegal preparing applications for immigration court and USCIS/DOS.
