Workers'Comp/Litigation Paralegal (Defense) The candidate's responsibilities include: Prepare charts, indexes and document productions; Prepare notebooks and exhibits for depositions, mediations, expert review, settlement conferences, trials, etc; Obtain, review, analyze, summarize and maintain medical records, depositions, client documents and other voluminous documents; Monitor and manage cases and documents to determine case status and follow-up on outstanding items and issues; Schedule depositions of witnesses, experts, etc; Provide attorney support through all phases of litigation; Draft subpoenas and other legal documents, as well as correspondence; Provide attorney support through all phases of litigation, including issuing subpoenas, etc; Communicate with clients, vendors, experts, opposing counsel and co-counsel as needed; Accurately track and record billable hours. Areas of law include but are not limited to Personal Injury, Products Liability, Premise Liability, Civil Litigation, General Liability, Medical Malpractice and Workers Compensation. This position is heavily Workers' Comp. 2 years of Litigation Defense experience preferred. Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program required. Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat required. Experience with a case/document management system preferred. Must be a team player but also possess the ability to work well independently. Must have the ability to effectively multi-task and independently prioritize and manage a large case load and competing deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent planning and organizational skills a must. Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must possess knowledge of motions, discovery, court rules, procedures, etc.
