Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities: Fact-finding and investigations, drafting, editing, and cite-checking pleadings, preparing and responding to discovery, preparing and attending depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials, and assisting in all facets of post-trial work. Qualifications: Must have either a Bachelor's Degree and/or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program. Should have 3-4 years of insurance defense litigation experience. Previous experience recording billable time is required, as is proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Word, and state and federal e-filing programs. Exceptional writing skills, investigational skills with an emphasis on background research, diagnostic skills required for medical records analysis, and the ability to prepare detailed medical chronologies and investigational summaries. Should possess strong organizational skills in the management of paper and electronic files and the ability to manage work for multiple attorneys and cases with discerning attention to detail.
