Litigation Paralegal The candidate will assist in drafting legal documents including, but not limited to, discovery pleadings, pleadings, motions, and correspondence to opposing counsel and to the courts. File court documents - Knowledge of E-filing. Applicant will research, analyze, and organize medical records effectively. As necessary schedule and arrange medical examinations for clients or opposing parties. Conduct computerized medical, scientific, and technical literature research. Analyze medical records and billing records in order to effectively prepare medical chronologies and medical specials. Maintain, organize, and track files including documents involving contact with insurance carrier(s), client, health care provider(s), employer(s) and state/local agencies in an efficient and effective manner. Maintain litigation docket and calendar, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines while assisting attorneys with same. Assist attorneys in preparation for their meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations and trials - including preparation of witness and matter materials for trial. Interact professionally with our Clients, responding to Client inquiries effectively and timely, keeping Clients up-to-date with the progress and status of their matters. (Preparation status updates/reports). Keep confidential client information in accordance with firm policies. Must have 3 years of current defense litigation experience. Understanding of medical terminology with the ability to analyze and summarize, and timeline medical records. Experience with document control and e-filing with State and Federal Courts. Ability to perform legal research - must have in-depth knowledge of legal terminology. Ability to create and analyze legal documents and ensure accuracy Exceptional organization, writing and communication skills. Ability to handle pressure, interruptions, and multiple projects with frequently changing priorities and deadlines while retaining the current status of your assigned cases.
