Immigration Paralegal, Bilingual The candidate will assist attorneys in working with clients to file immigration petitions and supporting documentation. Will correspond with clients and U.S. government agencies. Will assist clients with preparation of forms and collection of supporting documents for final review by attorney. Conduct legal and factual research. Maintain regular correspondence with clients. Maintain client files in electronic database and physical archive. Act as liaison between clients, attorney, and various government agencies. Submit records requests to various government agencies. Track filings and deadlines. Maintain Case Status Reports for each client. Conduct intake screen interviews for new clients.
The candidate should have a minimum Bachelor's Degree. Previous immigration paralegal experience. Fluency in Punjabi or Spanish required. Strong attention to detail and keen attention to deadlines. Ability to prioritize and multi-task. Able to handle confidential and sensitive materials. Excellent professional communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office, database experience a plus, able to learn new software. Problem-solving skills, must be a quick learner. Works well under pressure, able to adapt in changing situations. Ability to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment.
