Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be responsible to work primarily on first-party, property damage insurance cases. Support a team of dedicated attorneys. Join a boutique firm that specializes in plaintiff's personal injury, medical malpractice, insurance bad faith, and property damage cases. Enter all deadlines, including by using legal deadline software. Schedule appointments, depositions, and meetings. File pleadings with PACER (Federal Court) and Colorado Courts E-Filing (State Court). Prepare all disclosures - expert and non-expert (including organizing, bates labeling, redacting (all electronically through the use of Adobe) and preparing the associated pleading and privilege log). Draft Subpoenas, Entries of Appearance, Notices of Deposition, Scheduling Orders, Case Management Orders, Pretrial Orders and rule-based motions to be reviewed by attorneys for filing. Organize and carefully review all documents (electronically), and review and prepare the same for production when necessary. Manage all aspects of trial and deposition preparation, including preparing notebooks, exhibits and witnesses. Conduct research, investigations, and background checks. The candidate must have previous experience as a paralegal. Familiarity with legal research is necessary. Ability to prioritize and multitask is required. Ability to coordinate efforts and work together with co-counsel in other states is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are needed. Must be proficient with: Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook; Adobe (including being able to edit, combine, and bates label documents) and Colorado State (Colorado Courts E-Filing) and Federal (Pacer/ECF) e-filing. Proficiency with LawToolBox and Clio is preferred.
