Environmental Paralegal The candidate will provide duties include: Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes. Prepare legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, etc. Prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document file by ensuring proper indexing and filing of original leading documents. Attend meetings with clients to determine factual issues and possible documentation sources. Maintain and monitor case calendar. Manage and assist in document review and document production in the litigation context. Identify electronic sources for collection of electronic discovery from clients; coordinate collection of electronic files; analyze the nature and volume of data to be collected; and determine the platform that will be utilized for review of the data in the discovery process. Track document productions in assigned cases. Assist in the presentation of electronic exhibits, assist in tracking of trial exhibits, coordinate witness appearances and serve as a key contact with court personnel in the logistics of the trial process. Prepare privilege logs. Prepare notices and subpoenas; summarize/index transcripts; prepare witness files; select and assemble potential deposition exhibits; attend and take notes at depositions. Assist in preparing discovery requests and responses; summarize responses from other parties. The candidate have paralegal certificate or related experience is preferred. Must have 3+ years of law firm litigation experience with e-discovery tools and software, document management and trial preparation. Must be highly motivated with a strong work ethic. Must have exceptional attention to detail. Must have ability to work independently. Must have strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to interact with clients and attorneys. Must be proficient in excel, power point, trial director, and familiar with docketing software. Must be able to perform all essential duties. Must have willingness to work overtime and weekends, if needed.
