Legal Secretary- Litigation The candidate will provide legal administrative support to an average of four to five busy timekeepers in a highly collaborative working environment. Prepare legal documents and letters, including composing, formatting and editing; responsible for opening client files and record maintenance. Organize client documents, open new client numbers/matters and coordinate with Conflicts and Docket Departments. Maintain calendars and contacts. Time entry, processing mail, answering phones, client billing, and tracking CLE credits for attorney assignments. Interact with clients in person and over the phone, when appropriate. Make travel arrangements and processes expense reimbursements electronically. Handle administrative confidential/sensitive firm and/or client information. The candidate should have 5+ years of experience in a mid to large sized law firm. Must have familiarity with local court rules. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and ability to multi-task required. Ability to operate effectively within a team environment, including attorneys, paralegals, docketing and administrative personnel. Exceptional interpersonal skills; strong written and oral communication skills and excellent client service. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (including utilization of styles and pleading formatting). Strong typing skills (speed & accuracy) and ability to learn and become proficient in new computer software programs quickly.
