Litigation Paralegal Duties: Gathering client medical records; managing client medical record and litigation files; preparing medical treatment and expense record summaries; conducting professional conferences with clients to gather information for written discovery; preparing 1st draft written discovery to opposing parties; preparing 1st draft responses to written discovery; preparing 1st draft pleadings, including Complaints, proposed scheduling orders, basic motions, etc; filing electronically in state & federal court; managing attorney calendar to ensure pretrial deadlines are met; and preparing Exhibit & Witness Lists. preparation of Trial Notebook.
The candidate must have 5+ years experience in personal injury/insurance defense litigation case-prep and trials; and experience in both Nebraska and Iowa state and federal courts. Must have interpersonal skills necessary to work as part of a litigation team.
