Litigation / Trial Paralegal The candidate will be responsible for instructing attorneys and paralegals in the use of litigation support software, assistance with preparation of litigation budgets, legal hold letters, preparing for trials, mediations and arbitration, as well as filing documents through Federal and State e-filing systems and local rules of various federal and state courts in jurisdictions in which the firm practices. Assist with the preparation of court filings, including cite- and fact-checking legal briefs, confirming proper Bluebook citation, proofreading, and assembling of exhibits and appendices. Assist with depositions, including preparation of witness files, exhibits, notices and subpoenas, and deposition summaries. Conduct factual or legal research; examine public records; monitor legislative and administrative proceedings as assigned; locate witnesses; trace documents and other physical evidence. Assist with trial preparation and logistics, including preparation of witness files, management of exhibits, assisting with setting up trial space, and attending trial, as needed. Coordinate with vendors and service providers for outside services, following the firms procurement policies. Consult with firms eDiscovery Manager and manage document reviews and coordinate electronic discovery proceedings including, but not limited to, via Relativity, Case Notebook, and Trial Director. Perform legal tasks that require significant independent judgment. Must have working knowledge of litigation support software programs and document management systems and be knowledgeable about federal, state and local e-discovery and e-filing rules. Must have skill and experience in all facets of litigation and trial preparation, including following best practices for case management, executing electronic discovery requirements, including collection, review, preservation and production of paper and electronic documents. Must have Bachelor's degree, Associates degree or certificate program in paralegal studies. Should have 5-7 years of experience acting as a trial paralegal. Thorough knowledge of legal terminology, principles and practices required. Thorough knowledge of legal research techniques needed. In-depth knowledge of local, state and federal laws and regulations required.
