This mid size Orlando office maintains a full service civil law practice. International Patent Paralegal Duties: Reporting to Patent Supervisor, will support the international patent prosecution practice. File international (PCT) applications, PCT amendments & Demands for International Preliminary Examination. Instruct international counsel to enter the national phase of PCT applications in their jurisdictions. Instruct international counsel to file utility and design patent applications in their jurisdictions. Oversee international patent prosecution matters from filing to grant including payment of annuities or interfacing with clients regarding their payment of annuities. Communicate with the Firm s attorneys and clients regarding all aspects of international patent prosecution matters. Work with Docketing department to prepare status and docket reports for clients. Maintain accurate electronic records for client matters, and ensure integrity of Docketing department s records. Process incoming files transferred to the Firm, and prepare files for transfer out of the Firm. Capture billable time in the Firm s timekeeping system. Maintain current knowledge of PCT and international patent laws and practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of international patent filing and prosecution experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.. In-depth knowledge of patent filing & prosecution practices in the PCT and in major jurisdictions worldwide. Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize work to meet attorneys and clients needs. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, and Document Management Systems such as iManage.
