Litigation Paralegal Duties: Performing legal and factual research; performing records research. Identifying relevant judicial decisions, statutes, legal articles, codes, and other pertinent material; reviewing and monitoring new and updated regulations. Organizing and analyzing information; cross-checking and validating information. Preparing written reports and drafting legal documents including briefs, appeals, wills, contracts, and legal agreements and correspondence. Helping prepare legal arguments, applications, declarations, and motions. Checking legal forms and documents for accuracy. Maintaining reference files; organizing and tracking case files. Performing discovery. Coordinating law office activities such as subpoena deliveries. Locating and communicating with witnesses; interacting with clients. Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor Degree, Associates Degree, or Certificate program in paralegal studies. 5+ years legal experience, ideally in a corporate field. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience considered. Thorough knowledge of legal principles, legal research techniques, legal terminology, and government regulations. Excellent legal drafting, writing, and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, fax machine, printer, scanner, computer. Ability to type 50 WPM preferred.
