Litigation Paralegal (Bankruptcy Focus) RESPONSIBILITIES: Heavy discovery/e-discovery responsibilities, including but not limited to, preparing responses to interrogatories and requests for production, preparing documents for production, drafting privilege logs, maintaining production logs, tracking deadlines, and analyzing production for gaps. Prepare attorneys for depositions, including maintaining witness/deposition files, preparing deposition exhibits, drafting deposition notices, transcript management, and calendaring relevant dates. Prepare attorneys for trial, including preparing pre-trial motions and exhibits, running trial management software at trial, maintaining witness contact information, drafting trial subpoenas, and all other trial related responsibilities. Conduct factual research, as requested to obtain important background information to fill in missing matter information as needed. Draft pleadings, notices, correspondence, and memoranda as needed to propel case forward, document findings or provide necessary information needed for the litigation. Draft, and review legal documents, including but not limited to motions, notices, complaints, affidavits and fee applications. Maintain calendars, and lists of all critical dates to ensure all deadlines are met and work is processed in an effective and efficient manner. Ensure all parties are informed of and kept abreast of schedules. Maintain and organize matter file in document management system, with ability to find and recall documents as requested. Prepare hearing binders. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree required. Paralegal certification a plus. 5+ years of litigation experience required. Business bankruptcy related experience preferred. Knowledge of the Rules of Court (both Federal and State) in your jurisdiction (including Chancery Court in Delaware for Delaware applicants). Professional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, clients, and attorneys. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. An ability to work independently while also being a team player. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Integrity and professionalism. Strong work ethic with the ability to balance and prioritize high volume workload. Familiarity with Best Case, Relativity, Filesite (iManage), Microsoft Office, docketing software, and ECF websites preferred. Experience with electronic case management or tracking system(s). Ability to maintain positive internal working relationships with office staff.
