Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties. Deal with witness preparation and assist with case settlements. Handle other tasks as requested by the attorney. The candidate should preferably have an Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience. Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is also preferred. Must have 2+ years of litigation experience. Should preferably have experience in personal injury, workers' compensation, premises liability, or other injury-related practice areas. Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules, and procedures, practices, etc. is needed. Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings. Will assist with filing, proofreading, and drafting documents and information related to investment funds. Track investor information for fund clients via spreadsheets and databases, and maintain client filing schedules. Assist with the electronic filing of documents with the SEC, IRS, EFD, and other government regulatory agencies. Perform state securities, corporate, and other related legal research. Perform public searches, including federal and secretary of state records. Retrieval of certified copies of corporate documents, certificates of good standing and legal existence, and related documents from state officials. Position Summary Temporary Project Attorneys periodically assist the firm's Pittsburgh, PA-based Records & E-Discovery Team with discovery projects using various litigation software tools. Primary responsibilities include conducting reviews for responsiveness, privilege and key issue content. This project is expected to last for 5 months. Candidates for the Temporary Project Attorney position must be actively licensed in good standing in Pennsylvania, New York, Illinois, California, Texas, Florida, Virginia, Washington DC, New Jersey or Delaware. Temporary Project Attorneys will be engaged on a project basis and paid at an hourly rate for hours worked. The rate of pay is $28/hr. The duration of employment can vary by project and typically last on a weekly or monthly basis.
