Litigation Attorney - Medical Malpractice The candidate will represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters involving professional malpractice and employment claims. Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions and case management conferences. Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations. Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda. Review discovery responses, depositions and prepare summaries and litigation update reports. Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims. Communicate closely with clients during the course of litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports and advice. 3 years of DE litigation experience required. Must be barred in DE. Must have 3 years' experience in medical malpractice or professional liability required. Experience drafting discovery, taking lead on depositions and arguing motions is required. Excellent writing and organizational skills, and comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding environment required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. Proficient in Lexis software required. Should have 3+ years' experience handling medical malpractice, nursing home litigation, and defense of Board actions. Should have 3+ years' experience handling labor and employment disputes arising from wrongful termination, discrimination and executive malfeasance. Experience in handling claims of professional malpractice, errors and omissions, and municipal and public entity liability is preferred. Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures is essential for both positions.
