Business Immigration Paralegal Duties: The candidate will prepare and file various immigration petitions and related applications. Compile and analyze case facts, draft correspondence, maintain and organize client documentation. Maintain direct contact with multiple attorneys. Analyze case documents and prepare immigration petitions and applications for filing with the appropriate government agency (H. L. TN, O, E, PERM, AOS, etc.). Draft petitions, applications and specialized support letters detailing eligibility for visa classification and other immigration benefits. Learn procedural and processing requirements for various types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications. Analyze and identify legal and procedural issues. Determine deadlines and prioritize cases. Communicate with clients. Work closely in a team environment. Perform package review, typically 1 week per month, 1 hour per day. May perform PERM review, typically 1 week per month, 1 hour per day. Assist with a team or office-wide projects (e.g. revision of template documents). Qualifications: The candidate should have a Degree from an accredited college/university OR Paralegal certification and 0-2 years of prior immigration paralegal experience OR 2 years of experience as an Assistant Paralegal or comparable experience. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; VisaTrax/Zoom, and Document Management System. Able to operate multi-line phone, calculator, cell phone, copier, fax, scanner. Able to mine and collect data for cases. Gather and analyze information skillfully. Focus on the case/task at hand; maintain confidentiality. Listen and get clarification. Respond to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact. Write clearly and informatively. Edit work for errors. Able to read and interpret information accurately and concisely. Keep work area neat and clear of safety hazards, files are maintained neatly and are easily retrieved. Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks, sometimes heavy caseloads. Willing and eager to help others and share knowledge and skills. Follow instructions, respond to management direction. Willing to commit to additional hours when necessary to reach Firm objectives. Take independent actions and reasonable risks; Asks for and offers help when needed. Knowledge In-depth knowledge of legal processes related to business immigration. Demonstrate proficiency with firm and client processes. Demonstrate proficiency in at least one case type (e.g. H-1B's, PERM, etc.).
